About

The Society of Thirteen is enjoying its Diamond Jubilee after 60 years of continuous activities in Chester.

The Society was formed in late 1963 when a group of thirteen people met to form a new Society that would organise lectures and events of interest for the benefit of the people of Chester.

Each year the Society presents a series of lectures on a wide range of subjects, given by local and national experts. From time to time, excursions are arranged to places or events of interest. Members are updated directly and current information is also posted on the Society’s website.

This season of ten lectures runs from September 2024 to June 2025 with talks held mid-month on a Monday evening at the Grosvenor Museum, Chester, starting at 7.30 p.m. unless otherwise stated.
