The Society of Thirteen was formed in 1963 when a group of thirteen people met to form a new Society that would organise lectures and events of interest for the benefit of the people of Chester.

Each year the Society presents a series of lectures on a wide range of subjects, given by local and national experts. From time to time, excursions are arranged to places or events of interest. Members will be kept informed individually, either by e-mail or letter, and up-to-date information is also posted on the Society’s website.

Members joining the Society pay an annual subscription of £10.00 and there is an entrance fee on the door of £3.00. Please show membership cards. Non-members are welcome to attend lectures, for which there is a charge on the door of £6.00. Refreshments are included in the price. Entrance fees may be altered for special events.

The Society is most grateful to all its sponsors for their support.
