Visit to Portmeirion Village, Gwynedd

Thursday 23 May 2019

We have organised a day visit to Portmeirion Village at a time in the year when the gardens should be at their very best. The coach will pick up at:

  • 0800 St Mary’s Handbridge
  • 0810 Chester Railway Station

We will arrive at Portmeirion by 1100. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided on arrival and will be followed by an illustrated lecture on the village and its history in the Town Hall building. The lecture will be given by Rachel Hunt, Curator and Collections Manager of the Village. After the lecture there will be a two-course buffet lunch in the Town Hall. A guided tour of the Village will then be available. As an alternative, members can choose to wander around themselves and enjoy Portmeirion at their leisure.

There wll also be free use of the land train which runs every 30 minutes. The land train will take members who wish to use it on a ride around part of the 70 acres of wild woodland and will return them to the centre of the village. Free wheelchairs can also be provided.

The all-inclusive cost for the itinerary as described including tea/coffee on arrival, lunch, the lecture and the guided tour will be £59 per head. We are looking for a minimum of 35 persons to make this trip viable..
